Griffiths and Juliano teamed up to question whether it’s too early to be singing the many praises of coffee we’ve discovered in studies. They teamed up to review caffeine research over the last 170 years (Does Google go back that far?), to see whether the methodology supported the caffeinated conclusions of its positive effects. Their Their work is summarized in a New Yorker article where they question whether many of the effects are simply due to depriving their subjects of caffeine the night before. Which gets me to wondering, are there enough subjects not addicted to caffeine to do a well-balanced study in North America?
